Hello, this is Ruben's dad. I've known Ruben a long time now and I think he's pretty cool. He's nine years old at the moment. One of his favorite hobbies is reading. He also likes computer games, swimming, Magic the Gathering, gymnastics, acting, telling jokes and throwing stuff at his brother. Over the past year, he's probably read at least 100 books. Not kiddie books. I'm talking the thick 350 page kinds. The trilogies with the wizards and the dragons and the secret universes kids are always finding in a closet or under a garbage can. You know what I mean.
The problem is, he tends to finish them in one or two days and then I'm back to searching Amazon and the book reviews to find him new material. But that only lasts a day or two. So I created this blog to give him a chance to share with you the books he reads. Maybe that will slow him down. His recommendation is probably the best you'll find online. Adults don't know what kids like. They think they do, but they don't.
At Ruben's Reading Room, you'll likely hear of books that will suprise and delight the 7 to 13 year old son/daughter/friend in your life that might enjoy a great book -- but doesn't know what to read. He's read so many of books... he knows which ones are worth your time and which one's are just phoning it in. So thanks for stopping by.
